Aperture v. Lightroom

The past few days I have been on a quest to pick which image managament and RAW editing software to use. In order to do so I downloaded trial versions of both Aperture 2 and Lightroom 2. Thus far I am leaning towards Aperture 2 because of the light table function it has built in which allows you to place your images on a digital light table and evaluate them next to one another. The light table function is really helpful if you are trying to tell a story with your images.

Above is an example of how I used the light table to create a composition of images from our honeymoon in Belize. Since my goal is to get into the travel and lifestyle niches of photography it is important for me to tell a story with my images. The light table comes in very handy when doing this.

Stay tuned for a more detailed review of each program.
